My name is Noy Chatoyan and I am a young designer, entrepreneur, and musician. To many, my interests stand disconnected from one another, but to me they all influence one another and have had a direct impact on my life thus far. My musicality began in 2011 when I began to play the piano. To me, the instrument was an abstract idea but now after a decade of moving my hands across the black and white keys, I have learned the transformative power of the piano and the effect its melodies have had on me. Certainly, it showed me compassion, something which radiates in all my entrepreneurial ventures.
In 2014, I began a charitable organization with my brother, called Smiles in a Box. The goal of creating the organization was to mend a broken world with smiles. In turn, we created little clay cubes with smiles on them, painted them different colors, packaged them with our story, donating half of each sale to a charitable cause. To date we have donated to various organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Hospital, UCLA Neuro-Oncology Center, The Eye on Jacob Foundation, and Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. With this one idea of hope and the entrepreneurial spirit I have been able to make an impact on many lives and my work has just begun. I have seen that entrepreneurial ideas are themselves important however, only with design may they thrive.
My journey in design started in 2016 where I began to explore the Adobe Suite. Starting to feel confident in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign, I started applying for freelance jobs on Fiverr, Upwork, etc. After obtaining a few gigs my passion for design grew. In 2018, I took on many more projects, working with various clients, and understanding their goals from my own entrepreneurial perspective . It was also then that I took the Adobe Certification Exams for Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Premier. I am now an Adobe Certified Associate displaying that I have skills to plan, design, build and maintain effective communications using different forms of digital media. Whether it be through graphic design, advertising, or product design, I have been able to express my creativity time and time again.
Through the keys of the piano, pages of business ideas, and sketches of designs I have begun to carve and define my own unique path to achieve my aspirations.
